Healthier Choice Logo and Healthy Trends
These past few years, more and more food manufacturers in Malaysia are focusing their research towards healthier products – less sugar, low in sodium, high in fibre. Healthier choice logo (HCL) is an initiative by the Ministry of Health Malaysia to facilitate consumers to identify healthy products by just looking at the front label packaging. To be eligible for HCL, the products are required to comply with the nutrient criteria set by the Nutrition Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia.
This encourages food manufacturers in Malaysia to reformulate and innovate new products with healthier options.
